The British Psychodrama Association

The British Psychodrama Association (BPA) was established in 1984 to promote and encourage the use of psychodrama and sociodrama throughout the UK. It is accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and in turn is the accrediting organisation for psychodrama and sociodrama training organisations.

Ethical Guidelines

Following the AGM of the Association in July of 2008 the draft document, with some ammendments still to come, is now the set of guidelines to which all practicing members of the BPA adhere. It is avaiable via this link: Ethics Guidelines document.

BPA Statement on Safety

The BPA exists to promote the development of psychodrama, sociodrama and creative action methods in psychotherapy, training and education. These are powerful tools that facilitate human spontaneity, creativity and learning. Any tool needs to be used with appropriate care. The BPA has made a statement on safety the full text of which can be found here

8th Cross Cutural Training Days - 2009

The cross cutural training event for 2009 will take place in Serbia. The most likely dates are 17th to 21st September 2009. More information be be posted as it becoames available.

2nd International Psychodrama Seminar - March, 2009, Zagreb Croatia

The Croatian Psychodrama Association with The Birmingham Psychodrama Institute have organisised the second international psychodrama seminar with Suzie Taylor in Zagreb Croatia: 14 - 17 March 2009. A brochure with complete information is available.

BPA Conference 2009 - Strathclyde University 26th - 28th June

The British Psychodrama Association Conference 2009 will be held in the great city of Glasgow at Strathclyde University from 26th- 28th June 2009

The conference committee are now calling for workshop proposals around the theme of:

“Dreams, Myths and Reality:
Psychotherapy and Social Change”
