Who can practise psychodrama?

Psychodrama is a very effective and powerful group method. The BPA is keen to protect the public and the good reputation of psychodrama and for this reason all trainees and practitioners are rquired to be registered with the BPA.

BPA Registration

All bona fide psychodrama practitioners, trainers and trainees are registered with the BPA and are required to abide by its Code of Practice and Code of Ethics.

Practitioners who have completed a recognised psychodrama psychotherapy training are registered as psychodrama psychotherapists on the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy register.

Psychodrama training is available in the UK at BPA accredited Training Centres and with PBA registered trainers. Training is also available in Sociodrama and Action Methods.

It takes a minimum of 4 years, part-time, to qualify as a psychodramatist with one of the UK diploma programmes. Applicants need to be over 25 years old and have either a degree, professional qualification or substantial relevant experience.

Supervision

All psychodramatists are required to have regular supervision for their work and to continue their professional development.
