The British Psychodrama Association

The British Psychodrama Association (BPA) was established in 1984 to promote and encourage the use of psychodrama and sociodrama throughout the UK. It is accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and in turn is the accrediting organisation for psychodrama and sociodrama training organisations.

Ethical Guidelines - draft

The ethical guidelines of the association are currently being reviewed. A draft copy (word format) of the guideline, due for ratification at the BPA annual conference in July, is now available: Ethics Guidelines document.

BPA Statement on Safety

The BPA exists to promote the development of psychodrama, sociodrama and creative action methods in psychotherapy, training and education. These are powerful tools that facilitate human spontaneity, creativity and learning. Any tool needs to be used with appropriate care. The BPA has made a statement on safety the full text of which can be found here

7th Cross Cultural Training Days

This year the 7th Cross Cultural Psychodrama Training Days event will be held in Slovenia on 18 - 21 September 2008

This training days event is an international event held annually which provides an opportunity to see how psychodrama is practiced in various cultures and for psychodrama trainees to be supervised by trainers from countries other than their own.

This year the British Psychodrama Association Conference is in Liverpool on 18 - 20 July 2008.

The BPA is establishing a number of special interest groups which are concerned with the promotion and use of psychodrama in various fields. Currently:

 

Psychodrama Training

The BPA is the accrediting body for psychodrama and sociodrama training in the UK. Details of trainings available in the UK can be found here.

British Psychodrama Association Conference 2009

The British Psychodrama Association Conference 2009 will be held in the great city of Glasgow at Strathclyde University from 26th- 28th June 2009

The conference committee are now calling for workshop proposals around the theme of:

“Dreams, Myths and Reality:
Psychotherapy and Social Change”
